Considered one of Latin America’s main travel and destination promotion trade fair for the U.S. market, the 44th version of TravelMart becomes a key instance to resume commercial agreements and generate new strategic links after the Covid-19 global health pandemic.

This tourism display will be held on December 7, 8, 9 and 10 and will have the virtual participation of one hundred American buyers and one hundred Latin American suppliers, among which Chile stands out as one of the invited countries in addition to participating as sponsor of one of the event’s seminars.

TavelMart is an exclusive event for travel industry professionals in which our country will promote experiences linked to nature, gastronomy, culture and adventure, the latter, thanks to the Leading Adventure Tourism Destination in the World title awarded by the World Travel Awards for the fifth consecutive year.

For the Undersecretary of Tourism, José Luis Uriarte, this encounter with the North American market “contributes to showcasing Chile’s tourist offer in one of our main international promotional markets during key moments to reactivate our market; a reactivation that must be performed gradually and implementing every required health measure to recover pre-pandemic levels such as 2019 when 224,741 American tourists arrived to our country, a higher figure than previous years and that was increasing each time.”

Additionally, the national director of Sernatur, Andrea Wolleter, highlighted the joint effort of the public and private tourism industry to participate as one in these activities despite the impact of the health pandemic on the domestic tourism industry.  “TravelMart brings together tour operators, wholesalers, meeting organizers, and incentive companies from the U.S., Canada, and Mexico with destinations in Latin America, which allows us to continue positioning Chile as a tourist icon in the region and to attract new tourists from these markets for the time when total reopening of tourism becomes a fact”.

Hence, TravelMart becomes a key instance to reactivate tourism in our country and, consequently, Chile will have an exclusive virtual participation space aimed at the whole audience on December 8th through a presentation of the Chilean destination and multiple wine experiences.
