Chile takes on the Berlin ITB Fair with 29 national companies and the beauties of the Route of Parks of Patagonia

The Los Lagos, Aysén and Magallanes regions will be part of Chile’s stand at the tourism trade fair in Germany that will take place between March 6 and 10.

Nature, adventure, wine tourism and national cultural heritage and traditions are the tourist experiences that Chile will promote in the 53rd version of the 2019 Berlin International Trade Show. It is an open encounter for the private professional public, which takes place between March 6 and 10 in Germany’s capital.

For Undersecretary of Tourism Mónica Zalaquet, this “is one of the world’s largest business platforms, with a turnover of more than 7 billion euros in business, transforming it into a key opportunity for Chile. It is a five-day showcase to put our attractions on display to the whole world, to generate business and, in the process, to keep motivating the German public to visit us, thus increasing their number of tourists from that country, which in 2018 was 80,394 “.

During this international event, Chile will mark its presence with a 184 square-meter stand to be shared among the Sernatur regional offices of Los Lagos, Aysén and Magallanes as well as with a delegation of 29 national companies from all over the country. Both seek to open tenders to new markets.

Regarding Chile’s participation in the Berlin ITB, the National Director of Sernatur, Andrea Wolleter assures that “Chile’s participation in the Berlin ITB is an opportunity to open ourselves to the international market and strongly impact our tourism offer, which will be represented by a delegation of 9 hotels, 12 tour operators, 1 travel agency and 7 commodities associated with transportation such as cruises and ferries, which will continue to position our country as a destination you cannot miss, with new attractions such as the Route of Parks of Patagonia”.

ATRACTIONS

In this way, during the fair in Berlin Chile will conquer visitors with wine tastings, performances of typical dances and virtual reality goggles that will take the public on a tour of different destinations and experiences associated with the adventure, sports and traditions that can be experienced In our country.

To this, we add the overall promotion of the Route of Parks of Patagonia, a scenic route of 2,800 kilometers that invites you to explore 17 national parks located between Puerto Montt and Cape Horn and includes the Austral Highways with the Patagonian channels and the End of the World Route.

In addition, throughout the event, Chile, supported by Argentina, will disseminate information of unprecedented destinations, promoting the beauties of Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego through a presentation of destinations to be held on March 7. Daily wine tastings of both countries are included in this framework of the overall promotion of South America abroad.

INTERNATIONAL FAIR

Berlin ITB will gather around 10 thousand exhibitors from more than 180 countries on six continents, among which tour operators, transport companies, hotels and specialized press stand out.

Hosted at the Messe Berlin events center, the 2018 edition delivered positive statistics: 160,000 attendees in search of new trends, products and partnership opportunities, 88% of the participants generated new business networks and 90% said they were satisfied with their participation in the event.
