In the 28th edition of the World Travel Awards South America (WTA), Chile is once again present as “World´s Leading Adventure Tourism Destination”, “World´s Leading Green Destination”, and “Most Romantic Destination”, among other nominations in competition with South America’s main exponents of the tourism industry.
In the last editions of the WTA, there have been several categories where our country has won first place and this year again, we seek to make history in this renowned international event.
Adventure Tourism Destination
For the last 6 years Chile has won the “World´s Leading Adventure Tourism Destination” award. The great landscape diversity of its territory, along with its unexplored nature, ranging from the driest desert in the world to Patagonia, give those who visit our country unique adventure experiences.
Best Green Destination
More than 4,000 km of coastline where different sports can be enjoyed, an extensive Parks and Natural Reserves network from north to south, more than 2,900 volcanoes, a varied endemic wildlife, are just some of the attributes that make our country a recognized competitor in this category, which was awarded during the WTA’s 2019 and 2020 versions.
Romantic Tourism Destination
In 2019 and 2020 was awarded the “Most Romantic Destination in South America” prize, with the Atacama Desert. During this version of the WTAs, our country once again is nominated thanks to its unique sunsets and landscapes that make Chile the natural reserve of stars.
Best Meeting & Conference Destination
But Chile’s flora and fauna are not the only protagonists of the country’s natural beauty. In the “Leading Destination for Meetings and Conferences” category, our country has a lot to offer thanks to its excellent infrastructure, connectivity and modernity, allowing to connect its unique nature with world-class international congresses in the same place.
