Copa Airlines reported that, after the resolution ordering the 30-day extension of the suspension of all international flights in the country due to the crisis caused by the COVID 19, it is expected to resume operations on June 1, 2020 once the company receives the permits required by the authorities of the region. Also, between May 23 and May 31, the Airline expects to be able to increase the number of humanitarian flights, with the aim of transporting more passengers back to their homes.

In this context, the restart of Copa Airlines operations from the Hub of the Americas®, located at the Tocumen International Airport of Panama, would take place gradually. It will begin with approximately 10% of the total existing operations prior to the impact of COVID-19, due to very low passenger demand in the short and medium term; a high level of cancellations; and that most of the countries of the region maintain restrictions on their territory.

Copa Airlines, whose commitment has always been and will be the safety of its passengers and staff, when reactivating its operations will do so by implementing all the health, hygiene and sanitation protocols required by national and international health authorities, as well as a series of new procedures to strengthen this aspect, which are being developed and will be announced later.

Important flexibility policy

For passengers whose itineraries have been affected by this situation, Copa Airlines has implemented the most important and extensive commercial policy to date, allowing to modify itineraries, without penalties, in tickets purchased before June 30, 2020, by contacting the reservations center of your country and following the conditions detailed below:

*All trips must begin no further December 31, 2020.

*The new itinerary must be completed before December 31, 2021.*

*Only applies for tickets issued by Copa Airlines: regular tickets and the ones acquired with miles.
