LATAM Airlines Group announced today the first non-stop flight between Santiago and Brasilia, which will operate three times a week starting as of October 15, 2019, reducing travel time between the two cities by four hours.

LATAM will also launch two new nonstop routes between Brasilia and Lima (Peru) and Asunción (Paraguay), scheduled for November and December 2019, respectively.

These flights will not only offer passengers more convenient connections to Brasilia, the political center of Brazil, but will also be able to connect the multitude of destinations in the north and northeast of the country more easily, “said Enrique Cueto, CEO of LATAM Airlines Group.

The flight LA780 (Santiago-Brasilia) of LATAM Airlines Group will depart on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 12:55 local time from Arturo Merino Benítez airport in Santiago, arriving in Brasilia at 18:15 local time. The return flight (LA781) will operate on the same day and depart from Presidente Juscelino Kubitschek International Airport in Brasilia at 20:05 local time, arriving in Santiago at 23:25 local time. The route will be operated with an Airbus A320 aircraft, with the capacity for 174 passengers.

DIRECT FLIGHT

Brasilia is the second largest operating base of LATAM in Brazil, from where direct flights operate to 33 other destinations, including Manaus, Fortaleza, Maceió, Recife and Salvador.

Located in Midwest Brazil, Brasilia is the federal capital of the country. With a population of 4,284,676 in the metropolitan area, it is the third largest city in Brazil and was built especially as the country’s capital during the 1950s. The city is considered a cultural center with several attractions, such as the National Museum, the National Library and the Monumental Axis, designed by the Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer.

With this new flight, LATAM will offer a total of four direct routes between Chile and Brazil, including its flights from Santiago to Rio de Janeiro, Porto Alegre and its São Paulo hub, from where it offers connections to 26 international destinations in South America, the United States, Europe and Africa. The company currently operates more than 12 daily flights between the two countries, transporting approximately 1,600 passengers per day.

BRASILIA-LIMA-ASUNCIÓN 

As of November 14, 2019, LATAM Airlines Peru will operate nonstop flights between Lima and Brasilia. The flight LA2416 will depart from Lima at 00:06 local time on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays and arrive in Brasilia at 06:55 local time. The return flight (LA2471) will operate on the same days and depart from Brasilia at 08:30 local time, arriving in Lima at 11:06 local time. The route will be operated with an Airbus A320 aircraft, with the capacity for 174 passengers.

LATAM also plans to start the Brasilia-Asunción route during December 2019 and more details will be communicated in a timely manner.
