Winter in Chile is more than just snow sports. That is the slogan of the national tourism industry, which in this winter vacation season 2022 has prepared various alternatives for “getaways” to different parts of the country.
Romantic getaways
This winter season 2022, Sheraton Miramar puts its faith in romance, with a special program designed for couples. The new offer marks the official return of the massage service, offering its guests the treatment along with options of sparkling wine, chocolate, and dinner, among others. Meanwhile, on Thursdays and Fridays they have activities at the Farewell Bar, with themed cocktails that vary every month and a live DJ.

For wine lovers, meanwhile, there are different options for wine tourism visits together with Chile Food&Wine. To enhance the winter season 2022, the company offers a 10% discount on weekends. Additionally, those who gain access to the activities they offer, their users will have a free wine consultancy.
Among the destinations offered by the service we have the vineyards in the valleys of Casablanca, Aconcagua, Cachapoal and Colchagua. These include strain tasting, wine sales and gourmet product tasting.
Chiloé and the south are strengthened
One of the novelties of the winter season 2022 is brought by the company Skorpios Cruises, which will restart its cruises with a new service: the Veliche route. This one seeks to cross Chiloé (Los Lagos Region) between July and September, passing through the Lemuy, Quehui and Mechuque islands.
With Chiloé once again as the protagonist, the Hotel Parque Quilquico (Castro, Los Lagos Region) is preparing for the season with a 10% discount promotion for stays up to August 31st on Breakfast Only, Half Board and Full Board Program rates. This is for direct sale on their website and at their reservation center. The hotel also offers tours of the Lemuy, Chonchi, and Quinchao islands, and the Chiloé National Park.

But the south has more offers: the Puyehue and Ranco lakes (Los Lagos and Los Ríos Regions, respectively) have a series of activities designed by local entrepreneurs, which can be seen on the ruthenic platform.
Among the offers they have there is a restaurant and cabins; the Mancopulli Automuseum; routes along wooden docks; visits to the Puyehue Aquarium; an educational farm with chickens, geese, and rabbits; zip line; trekking and climbs up volcanoes; botanical tours and excursions; forest baths; and crafts with blankets, footboards, rugs; among others.
Adventurous Patagonia
Winter can also be an excellent time to visit. This is how the tourist agency Smartrip looks at it, which has a series of offers for the winter season 2022. On its website, it offers 30% discounts on packages at KAU Patagonia Lodge (Puerto Natales); Patagonia Factory (Puerto Natales); and Tierra Patagonia (Torres del Paine National Park), all in the Magallanes Region.
And speaking of the Torres del Paine National Park, we can tell you that they are also ready for winter 2022. During the season, although the services on the trekking circuits will not be operational, some camping platforms can be used free of charge during the winter. Those who are interested in going into the Reserve should send a mail to mailto: info@lastorres.com or a WhatsApp message to +56983579064.

Meanwhile, on September 8th, the W Circuit will open, a month that will be marked by marathons, tourist events and the National Holidays.
Winter in the north
The northern zone could not be absent either during the winter season 2022 with an offer focused on those who want to “get away from the cold”.
According to official figures, the hotel industry in Iquique already has 90% of reservations for those days of rest, a time when mostly Chilean tourists will arrive. In the same vein, the Tarapacá Region hopes to once again be one of the most visited regions in Chile during the winter.
For its part, the city of Arica has prepared a series of circuits for those who want to give a new face to winter in the city of “eternal spring”. To do this, some tour operators have teamed up with their brothers in Tarapacá for joint historical tours that promote destinations such as Pisagua and Humberstone.

This is added to Arica’s very own cultural contribution with the “10 thousand years of history” bus, which runs through the city and the historic part, with Biodiversity and coastline circuits; and the Chinchorro Expedition circuit with traditional fishing.
Other routes include Putre, Lauca National Park, Salar de Surire, Termas de Polloquere, Reserva de las Vicuñas and Cuevas de Anzota, among others.
