The Chilean stand was recognized among the 185 countries from all over the world who participated at the WTM 2023 fair.

On their last day of participation at the World Travel Market (2023) tourism fair, the most influential travel and tourism event in the world, Chile received the prize for “Best stand for doing business” in London.

The Sernatur stand was recognized among the 185 countries from all over the world who participated at WTM 2023.

It was praised for its well-planned design, which included a variety of spaces, such as tables in an open area, and a closed meeting section for people who wanted more privacy. The judges said that it was a “great space for doing business”.

Cristóbal Benítez, Sernatur national director, received the prize. He highlighted that the award “fills us with pride and shows that we are promoting these types of commercial meetings in a good way among the national exhibitors and the buyers who are interested in the destinations, attractions, and experiences Chile offers on tourism”.

“Now we can say that we have the best stand for doing business at one of the most important B2B tourism events in the world”, he added.

Coquimbo will receive ATTA Adventure Week in 2024

Among today’s meetings, the Sernatur national director held a meeting with Gabriela Stowell, Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA) vice-president for regional development, a chance to confirm that Coquimbo will host the next AdventureWeek in 2024.

“We are very happy to be here in London and be able to announce that we are hosting an AdventureWeek in Coquimbo next year, in a region that the ATTA community wants to get to know. It is an international event, where buyers and journalists will tour the destination and do a lot of business, so we are going to Coquimbo in August 2024”, Stowell confirmed.

AdventureWeek will place the Coquimbo Region as a new destination for nature and adventure tourism. Through these initiatives, the Adventure Travel Trade Association — leader group in adventure travel industry in the world— seeks to educate and connect the region with adventure tourism community with the Marketplace space, where all the participants from AdventureWeek will meet with the local offer.

This award is added to the one given by Lonely Planet to our country at the WTM, where the prestigious travel magazine highlighted Chile as one of the 10 countries to visit as part of the “Best in Travel 2024” awards.
