After the pandemic, Santiago ranked third in Latin America in the ICCA 2022 Ranking and Chile ranked fourth as a country.

Excellent news for Chile came from the latest edition of the ICCA Ranking (International Congress & Convention Association), where the city of Santiago appeared as one of the best destinations in Latin America for meeting tourism.

The capital of our country obtained third place among the most visited cities for this segment, according to the ranking created by the International Congress & Convention Association.

Globally, this measurement includes more than 190 nations and ranks countries and their respective cities according to the number of international congresses, conventions and seminars effectively held in the region.

SERNATUR did a great job of compiling national information to provide feedback for the ICCA Ranking, where Santiago is one of the main exponents of meeting tourism on the continent.

Chile ranked fourth in Meeting Tourism Ranking

Chile, meanwhile, reached fourth place among the Central and South American countries that organized the most congresses and seminars in 2022, with a total of 61 international congresses (under ICCA criteria and associative events).

Of this total, 37 were held in the city of Santiago, raising our capital to third place in the ranking of cities with the most events in Latin America and surpassing in number large cities such as Bogota, Panama City, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo and Montevideo.

In the world ranking, Santiago surpassed cities such as New York, Washington, and Frankfurt.

Another important distinction for Chile is that cities such as Valparaíso and Puerto Varas also stood out in the ranking.
