The ranking made by Lonely Planet also presented the Chilean Patagonia as one of the most sustainable destinations in the world.
The renowned travel guide Lonely Planet, chose Chile as one of the top five destinations to visit in 2024.
The list included a total of 50 tourism areas, and our country reached fourth place after Mongolia, India, and Morocco.

What to see in Chile in 2024
Experts at Lonely Planet highlighted that we are “a country of salt flats, tropical rainforests, volcanoes, glaciers, and fjords”.
They also recommended observing the landscapes at Torres del Paine, the volcanoes, and forests near Pucón, and the colorful streets of Valparaíso.
Another reason Chile achieved this important recognition was due to our cuisine full of “endemic ingredients.”
Chilean Patagonia: The second most sustainable destination
Another important recognition Chile obtained in Lonely Planet was because of Patagonia, chosen as the second most sustainable destination in the world.
The area was only beaten by Spain, and surpassed Greenland, The Wales Way, The Portuguese Way, and Palau, among others.
