Adventures along the Route of Parks of Patagonia”, SERNATUR’s new proposal to promote adventure tourism, which joins the efforts of the Chile Travel brand for international audiences with the Ruta de los Parques de la Patagonia project.

On Tuesday, July 19th, SERNATUR’s International Markets department, in conjunction with the Adventure Travel Trade Association, held a reinforcement and training webinar for U.S. and Canadian audiences on the route designed by Rewilding Chile (formerly Tompkins Conservation Chile), which covers 1,700 miles between Puerto Montt and Cape Horn.

Over 70 strategic participants for the positioning of Chile as an adventure tourism destination, including tour operators, travel agencies, travel consultants, the press and opinion leaders, attended the event.  They were invited to a virtual trip through the three regions that make up the Chilean Patagonian territory – Los Lagos, Aysén and Magallanes Region – and were introduced to the adventure offerings of Chilean Patagonia.

The training is expected to reach more than 10,000 travel industry professionals, as the meeting will be available at https://learn.adventuretravel.biz/webinar.

Meanwhile, under its brand for international audiences Chile Travel, SERNATUR will have a space at the inauguration of Adventure Travel World Summit, the largest adventure tourism event in the world, which will convene over 700 senior executives from around the world.

The Ruta de los Parques de la Patagonia encompasses 17 national parks and protects 28,000,000 hectares. It is an economic driver for the more than 60 surrounding communities that benefit from conservation efforts.
