Starting this Tuesday, June 20th at noon, the cupomujer.sernatur.cl website is available for women to apply directly for all-inclusive trips of three days and two nights, between the regions of Coquimbo and Los Lagos, for a maximum co-payment of CLP $ 25,000.
Cupo Mujer is a new Family Tourism program travel means with 1,500 exclusive quotas groups of women.
The Undersecretary of Tourism, Verónica Pardo, said that “the selection will be by order of application as long as the requirements are met since the quotas are from the Coquimbo Region to Los Lagos Region. However, we are working to increase these quotas because we are convinced that these programs generate tourism with social impact, being able to reach all people regardless of their socioeconomic status, who require a getaway, who want to enjoy the benefits of our country, and who, above all, see these trips as a way to improve their mental health”.
For his part, the SERNATUR national director, Cristóbal Benítez, pointed out that “the Cupo Mujer is a new means of our line of social tourism trips in which the State subsidizes close to 80% of the tourist package. The innovation that accompanies this premiere is the direct commercialization since these quotas will not be delivered through the application of the town halls, as is traditional in the Family Tourism program of which it is a part. Although the trips we offer are in ten regions of the country, we will work to expand the coverage in the future to benefit more women and families throughout Chile.
These trips are called getaways, since they last three days and two nights, from Friday to Sunday, and are intra-regional, that is say, visit destinations in the same region of origin of the group of passengers. The exception is the Metropolitan Region, which travels to the destinations of Viña del Mar, El Quisco, Lago Rapel, and Pichilemu.
Each itinerary includes transfers, accommodation, full board, excursions, tour guide, and assistance insurance during the three-day weekend tourism experience. The trips are designed for them to travel and share with their peers in the mid and low seasons, that is to say, between September and December 2023.
Since there are 150 quotas per region and ten regions participating, the tourism authorities made a call to review well and in time what documentation is required to apply and what the process is like, so that tomorrow the women who are interested in benefiting from this government initiative can successfully complete their registration and access trips that allow them to enjoy national tourism in destinations in their own regions.
Requirements to apply to Cupo Mujer
- The benefit is aimed at women between 18 and 59 years old.
- They must be Chilean or foreign women residing in Chile, be registered in the Social Household Registry (Registro Social de Hogares) and qualify in any of the following categories.
- Have a valid national identity card.
- Subsequently, if the group is selected, the requirement will be to make a co-payment of $ CLP 25,000 maximum per passenger.
How to apply to the SERNATUR Cupo Mujer program
- Register your travel group at sernatur.cl. When you do so, you must assign a name (for example Traveler friends) and add a contact email, which will then be verified. The selected region determines the origin of the trip.
- Validate the registered email. Once the group is registered, a validation email will be sent to your provided email address.
- Assemble your travel group and register the four passengers. For each of them, you need to upload a copy of their identity card, Social Household Registry and, in the case of having a disability, attach proof of disability. All documents must be in PDF format and uploaded separately.
- Assign a representative of the group. She will be contacted by the SERNATUR Family Tourism team.
- You are already applying for the Cupo Mujer.
Tourism for all women
Cupo Mujer will represent 14% of the total quotas of the Sernatur Family Tourism program which, for its eighth season, is expected to benefit 10,368 citizens.
The opening of Cupo Mujer is launched after a successful pilot in 2022 with groups of 1,200 women over 18 years of age who, in the context of the pandemic, benefited from meaningful tourist trips with a humanistic and social vision, in a country scenario in which wellness spaces were sought to address the high demand for mental health.
The total amount of investment in subsidies involved in this initiative was CLP $ 119,615,610, while the total amount generated in co-payments was CLP $ 27,428,310. Both figures added up to a total investment in tourist packages of CLP $ 147,043,920 to reinject movement into tourist activity in the regions, a scenario that is intended to be replicated this year with the consolidation of this government initiative.
