Chile’s participation in the 2022 international Tourism Fair of Latin America (FIT)  ended successfully and kicked off an international tactical campaign called Go for Chile / ¡Vamos a Chile!

The Acting Sernatur Director for Chile, Beatriz Román, oversaw inaugurating the official stand for our country at the fair held in Buenos Aires. She was joined by the Chilean Ambassador to Argentina, Bárbara Figueroa, and the president of 2022 FIT, Gustavo Hani, who is also head of the Argentine Chamber of Tourism (CAT).

At the fair, Román held several meetings with Argentine Chambers of Tourism and wholesale operators which Chile is carrying out cooperative campaigns to encourage Argentine tourists to visit Chilean destinations with. “We are attending FIT with great expectation, as we have already waived all the requirements for entry into Chile, so we are open to receiving Argentine tourists, with complete normality,” she said.

She added that “Chile has proposals for all budgets, since 89% of the companies are small and medium-size, which can provide a variety of offers and costs”. In addition, the trans-Andean country is promoting activities such as Astro tourism, rural tourism, nature, and adventure tourism as well as excellent options for the luxury segment in terms of wine tourism in boutique wineries.

Argentina is one of our country’s priority markets. For this reason, Sernatur is resuming its strategic work in that country, providing destination training for the operators and agencies’ sales force.

FIT 2022 had 1,784 exhibitors and 115,594 visitors (81,243 general public, and 34,351 professionals). 24 Argentine provinces and 51 countries exhibited their products, where additionally, 3,900 business appointments were arranged.
