Giving a striking call to strengthen MICE Tourism, ICCA Chile Summit was held at the Metropolitan Santiago conference and event center.

Organized by ICCA, the meeting was held on July 18th and 19th, with the participation of the Undersecretary of Tourism, Verónica Kunze, and the National Director of SERNATUR, Beatriz Román. On the opening day, authorities highlighted the importance of meeting tourism and incentive travel in the recovery of the industry.

ICCA Chile Summit was also the right place to launch the new campaign Meet in Chile. In this event, the industry had the opportunity to get to know the marketing kit to apply it in the promotion of MICE Tourism.

According to numbers from 2019, prior to the COVID pandemic, 500,000 people arrived in Chile for this concept and contributed more than 18% of the foreign currency from national tourism.

In the last ten years, our country has invested significantly in its offer for international congresses and events. Chile is currently placed fourth in the ICCA ranking for Latin America and the Caribbean, while Santiago holds third place in the city ranking.
